Andrew Grundy started diving in 2003 after a pool try dive while on holiday in Lanzarote. Unfortunately this was on the last day of the vacation, so he could not take this any further. On returning home, Andrew contacted a local dive centre and signed up to an Open Water referral course, which he completed in the Red Sea. In march 2004, Andrew took a Peak Performance Buoyancy course in a local muddy lake, where the water temperature was 5 degrees centigrade (40 degrees Fahrenheit) and he was hooked. Andrew went PADI Pro in 2006 and became a PADI Staff Instructor 2008. In 2010, Andrew started his Tec training, he is now certified to dive to 100m+ (330 feet). 2022 Andrew started to become a freediver.

Andrew is a marine medic with British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR), this involves the monitoring and possible transportation of unwell seal pups to marine medical centres and the re-floating of dolphins and whales, in the event of stranding. Also a support staff member of Cetacean Research and Rescue Unit(CRRU) in Scotland, assisting their research with Minke Whales and Bottlenose Dolphins and supporting summer training placements.
​Andrew Worked as an accredited rescue diver for Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt on the status quo feature film, bula quo.
​
Until COVID and the installation of a new filtration system, he regularly assisted with the clearing of the ocean tank at the local Blue Reef aquarium. This involves diving in the tank with the black tip sharks and other fish to clean the windows and tunnel.
​
Also Andrew is the European administrator for the 'sandals and beaches scuba diving fans' Facebook group.
